Monica Maroun has a Diploma in Higher Education obtained from the Johannesburg College of Education and a Bachelor of Commerce, Human Resources Management degree through Midrand Graduate Institute and UNISA.
Although she started her career as a teacher, she quickly realised that her passion lay in human resources. This has then led to a career training and facilitating a variety of HR-focused training courses for her corporate clients and Monica has been involved with a number of high profile organisations including most recently PPC and Anglo American Platinum. She is currently working as an independent consultant and through her work she focuses on the broad spectrum of HR admin related issues.
Monica understands the pressure on HR Managers to get their records right and she believes that, ‘HR professionals are pulled in a million different directions every single day and it is up to them to keep a dizzying amount of corporate, employee and legal info on file and this info has to be correct and up-to-date at all times. Any HR record keeping and filing system is really only as good as your ability to keep on top of it and if your system isn’t comprehensive enough or if it is designed haphazardly then ‘breakdowns’ can occur that can potentially land your company in legal hot water!”
